Lake Como, Italy - the ultimate wedding destination, right? Combine Villa Balbiano, the unmatched scenery of Lake Como and the love between the two of them and our entire time with Sabrina and Lukas was pure magic. Intimate and perfect may be the best way to describe their elopement.

They whole day was so very “them” and completely serene. Starting the morning on their balcony together sipping cappuccinos, and then leisurely helping one another get ready for the wedding day. We loved allllllll of this and what an honor it was to capture.

The couple made it official lakeside at Villa Balbiano - overlooking the picturesque mountains, and then celebrated with their parents and a few close friends. They exited their wedding in classic Como fashion, by Riva boat, as they waved goodbye to their guests!

La Scuola Grande dei Carmini Wedding | Destination Elopement | Venice, Italy

There are few places as regal and magical as Venice, Italy. Italian-American planner Ema Giangreco chose a soft, color palette derived from the famous Saint Marks Basilica in San Marco Piazza. The domes of soft blue hues with gold gilding, the building walls—soft greys and creams. The clean white florals and custom Silvia Valli gown completed this elegant look.

The coloring of the heavily candle-laden ceremony with the softness of the details created the perfect look. Just a short distance from the church the couple walked the back canals of Venice to their reception location, an intimate space set for two at the Palazzo Morosini, canal front. The soft design carried through to the table—again boasting soft greys and blues—punctuated with simple white florals and greenery. The couple departed their reception in a quintessential Venetian gondola for two.

If it isn’t obvious by now (lol), we absolutely LOVE to travel…and as fate would have it -we already happened to be IN Provence shooting another wedding when our friend Clayton Austin asked if we were available to shoot with him for Sadaf & Alan’s wedding at Chateau Grimaldi in Aix en Provence, France. We extended our stay in this beautiful region, and departed from the small village of Rousillon to Aix en Provence - enjoying the brocantes along the Cour Mirabeau - and indulging in more wine… and just like this wedding, it was a complete dream.
